Julia Riley

Professor Riley is a consultant in Palliative Medicine. She is clinical lead for Coordinate My Care at South Central West, the clinical service that coordinates and allows patients to have choices and improved quality of end of life and urgent care. She is a senior research fellow and visiting Professor in Palliative Medicine and End of Life Care at Imperial College London.

Professor Riley has two main research interests. The first is in the inter individual variation in patients’ response to opioids. The second is the development of models of end of life care that include Advance Care Planning and the seamless transition between the acute and the community sector, improve quality of life, decrease in the number of unnecessary hospital admissions and increase the number of patients being cared for, and dying in their preferred place.

Maureen Carruthers

Maureen CarruthersDirector of Nursing

Mo brings with her a wealth of experience to the CMC team having held many Palliative care nursing roles and most recently as Divisional Nurse Director for Royal Marsden.

Marta Mulyak

Marta MulyakClinical Quality Manager

Marta was appointed as the Coordinate My Care Clinical Quality Manager in December 2018. Prior to that she helped to develop The Royal Marsden and the Institute for Cancer Research Biomedical Research Centre, where she performance managed a large portfolio of early phase clinical cancer trials. Marta joined the NHS in 2012 with over 10 years of experience in the private sector. Marta has a keen interest in improving and optimising individual patient’s care though adoption of innovative technologies and enabling cutting edge research in healthcare.

Liam Williams

LiamWilliamsDirector of Quality and System Performance

Liam is passionate about high quality cost effective care being secured for all patients , communities and populations. He is a Registered Nurse with extensive senior management experience across NHS commissioning and provider based organisations. Liam leads NHS SCW services that include a range of clinical services, digital analytics & intelligence, contracting and financial service support to c£5.5bn NHS contracts. Liam is NHS SCW Transformation Director for Cancer, Mental Health and Strategic Commissioning. He led the NHS SCW support to NHSE&I Covid-19 Clinical Assessment Service working with colleagues across NHS E&I, NHS Digital and NHS X and the development of the national Immunisation Recall Service.

Liam has a broad range of experience in the NHS. A registered nurse who worked in A&E, ICU and respiratory medicine, Liam has previously been an ambulance service executive director, a CCG Chief Nursing Officer and a Director of Commissioning. Liam is the clinical lead for SCW and is responsible for the SCW teams supporting CCG system planning, finance and decision support, including contracting teams responsible for supporting CCGs. Liam has extensive experience of NHS reorganisation, including being the lead executive in an NHS ambulance trust undergoing acquisition by a Foundation Trust. Liam is a strong advocate for keeping the patient and tax payer at the centre of decision making , no matter what the level of decision.
