Professor Riley is a consultant in Palliative Medicine. She is clinical lead for Coordinate My Care at South Central West www.scwcsu.nhs.uk, the clinical service that coordinates and allows patients to have choices and improved quality of end of life and urgent care. She is a senior research fellow and visiting Professor in Palliative Medicine and End of Life Care at Imperial College London.

Professor Riley has two main research interests. The first is in the inter individual variation in patients’ response to opioids. The second is the development of models of end of life care that include Advance Care Planning and the seamless transition between the acute and the community sector, improve quality of life, decrease in the number of unnecessary hospital admissions and increase the number of patients being cared for, and dying in their preferred place.

Mo brings with her a wealth of experience to the CMC team having held many Palliative care nursing roles and most recently as Divisional Nurse Director for Royal Marsden.

Marta was appointed as the Coordinate My Care Clinical Quality Manager in December 2018. Prior to that she helped to develop The Royal Marsden and the Institute for Cancer Research Biomedical Research Centre, where she performance managed a large portfolio of early phase clinical cancer trials. Marta joined the NHS in 2012 with over 10 years of experience in the private sector. Marta has a keen interest in improving and optimising individual patient’s care though adoption of innovative technologies and enabling cutting edge research in healthcare.
